Women of
Courage- Mary Magdalene Jan 3
We reflected
on the women we have studied in the past and how Satan had been an influence on
them. How easily it is to take our eyes
off of the Lord and we need to walk carefully in keeping our eyes focused on
Him. Shera stated that this study would
be a very important study.
Question
#1- What have you discovered about her
that you thought you knew but truly did not know? There is only one place that
is written about her.
Her demon
possession may have been lost in our thoughts about her. Some were surprised
that she was NOT the one that washed Jesus’s feet with tears or the adulterous
woman or some of the other assumptions that have been taught.

173- At the top of the page- “What
Scripture actually says about here is extraordinary enough without any false embellishment. Let’s not allow this truly remarkable woman
to get lost in the fog of ancient heretics.”

6:10-20 The
Whole Armor of God
10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. 14 Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. 16 In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; 17 and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, 18 praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints, 19 and also for me, that words may be given to me in opening my mouth boldly to proclaim the mystery of the gospel, 20 for which I am an ambassador in chains, that I may declare it boldly, as I ought to speak.
Our prayers should be for one another to put on the whole armor so that we don’t miss one piece of the armor. Warren Wiersbe made a statement, “Christ invaded Satan’s kingdom when he came to earth as a man…”
Satan works to make Christians complacent and lazy. We no longer realize that we are in a battle, we need to move forward for the cause of Christ.
2 Tim 2: 22-26
22 So flee youthful passions and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart. 23 Have nothing to do with foolish, ignorant controversies; you know that they breed quarrels. 24 And the Lord's servant must not be quarrelsome but kind to everyone, able to teach, patiently enduring evil, 25 correcting his opponents with gentleness. God may perhaps grant them repentance leading to a knowledge of the truth, 26 and they may come to their senses and escape from the snare of the devil, after being captured by him to do his will.
